Inside the Suite Caroline Apprentice Journey
At Suite Caroline, we believe in the long game. Our apprentice program is built on care, curiosity, and a shared respect for craft. There’s no fast-track to mastery, just the work, the mentorship, and the magic that happens when someone is truly ready.
This is what we’ve learned about building artists from the inside out.
How it Starts
Apprentices begin by learning the rhythm of the salon, shadowing senior stylists, observing colorists at work, and getting grounded in the energy of the space.
They move through hands-on training in mixing, formulation, glossing, styling, product knowledge, and client experience. Whether they’re perfecting a blow-dry or building trust during a model session, every detail matters.
Why It Works
There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. We train people when they’re ready, not just technically, but energetically. Our mentorship culture is collaborative, not competitive. We teach you how to do the work, but more importantly, how to see it.
In Their Words
**“Starting my career at Suite Caroline as an apprentice truly changed my life. I was encouraged to take advantage of every opportunity, and the curriculum, shaped by so many talented and diverse stylists, helped me develop my own style and craft.
The training was intense, hands-on, and incredibly supportive. I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. It gave me the confidence and foundation I needed to grow into the stylist I am today.”**
— Sam Draper, Stylist at Suite Caroline
**“I started my apprenticeship at Suite Caroline in 2018, and I can’t even begin to express the gratitude I have for the people I learned from, then and now. I assisted on fashion weeks in Paris and shows like Vera Wang, Rick Owens, Lanvin, and more. Those opportunities came from choosing Suite Caroline as my home.
More than anything, I learned how to carry myself as a professional, and how to respect the people around me. That mentorship shaped not just my career, but my values. I wouldn’t be the colorist—or the person—I am today without it.”**
— Karly Cerrone, Colorist at Suite Caroline
