Cut, Color, Chanel: Carrie’s Transformation at Suite Caroline

The Carrie Coon Blonde

A salon afternoon with Alicia, Travis, and Lena

When stylist Alicia Lombardini reached out to Suite Caroline, she had a vision, and a request. She wanted to collaborate directly with Lena Ott on a transformation for Carrie Coon, who had just wrapped a film role and returned to her natural hair: short, untouched, and grown in.

The Emmys were coming up, and Alicia wanted something new. Something luminous and defined, but still effortless. She referenced Jean Seberg for the cut and was dreaming of a fresh take on blonde. That was the starting point.

Color Comes First

Lena began the process by lifting and toning Carrie’s natural hair. The direction wasn’t icy—it was clean, dimensional, and restrained.

On the carpet it may read “platinum,” but the tone was actually closer to Redken 10GI Tahitian Sand, layered with several custom formulas to maintain softness and shine. The color brought Carrie's features forward without competing with them. It also paired beautifully with the pale blue Chanel Alicia had in mind.

The Refinement

After the color was complete, Travis Speck stepped in to refine the cut. Alicia’s original reference to Jean Seberg came through in the sharpness of the silhouette, but Travis softened it just enough to make it modern. It wasn’t about copying a style, it was about letting the new color live within the right shape.

Collaboration in Motion

The afternoon unfolded in a way we always hope for, thoughtfully, collaboratively, and without hurry.

Carrie arrived with Alicia, and the three artists—Lena, Travis, and Alicia, moved together through the vision. Alicia shared references, offered ideas, and gave space for interpretation. Lena and Travis worked in tandem, adjusting as the look evolved.

It was less about creating a red carpet moment, and more about creating a look that felt completely hers.
